Four smugglers including two women arrested with drugs

Guwahati, 05 April (HS). The Special Task Force (STF) team of Assam Police, while conducting an operation on the basis of secret information, has arrested four smugglers including two women along with drugs.

According to information received from the police headquarters, a group of drug smugglers based in Dimapur, Nagaland was camping in Brahmaputra Lodge located in Adabari, Guwahati. From where the drug smuggler supplies narcotics to Azara, Mirza of Guwahati and other areas of South Kamrup.

Police sources today said that based on concrete information, the STF team raided room number 102 of the lodge and seized heroin hidden in 17 soap boxes. The weight of heroin is said to be 257 grams.

A total of four people, two men and two women, were arrested during the police operation. Police have initiated necessary legal action.

The arrested smugglers have been identified as Jadav Bhawal (42), Bhaswati Gowala (45), Priyanka Das (30) and Deba Das (19).
