India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) has made banking services even more accessible through its ‘Personal Loan Referral Service’. As per the latest update of March 13, 2026, IPPB is now helping crores of its customers to get loans ranging from ₹20,000 to ₹5 lakh for emergency fund needs.
What is IPPB’s ‘Loan Referral Service’?
India Post Payments Bank is a payments bank, hence it cannot give loans directly from its own capital. Instead, the bank has joined hands with HDFC Bank, PNB MetLife and other reputed NBFCs (Non-Banking Financial Companies).
Role: IPPB plays a supporting role. You apply through IPPB, and the loan is given by its partner bank.
Advantage: With this you get the trust of the postal department and the facilities of big private banks at one place.
Main features and interest rates of the loan
Loan amount: Minimum of ₹20,000 to ₹5 lakh depending on your eligibility and CIBIL score.
Interest Rate: Interest rates are decided by IPPB’s partner banks. Generally it can be between 10.75% to 19% per annum.
Flexible EMI: You can get 12 to 60 months to repay the loan.

The following conditions are required to be fulfilled for IPPB Personal Loan:
Citizenship: It is mandatory for the applicant to be an Indian citizen.
Age: The age of the applicant should be between 21 to 60 years.
Income: You must have a regular source of income (salaried or self-employed).
IPPB Account: Applicant must have an active savings account in India Post Payments Bank.

Keep these documents ready for digital application:
Identity and Address Proof: Aadhar Card and PAN Card.
Proof of Income: Bank statement of last 3-6 months.
Photograph: Passport size photograph of the applicant.
how to apply? (Step-by-Step)
Online Application: Login to IPPB Mobile Banking App. Go to ‘Services’ section and select ‘Loan’ option. Fill in your basic information and ‘Submit’.
Offline Application (Through Postman): This is the biggest feature of this service. You can call the postman or Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) of your area. They will register your loan application sitting at home through the biometric device and smartphone they have.
Call or SMS: A representative of the partner bank will contact you and the necessary paperwork will be completed digitally.
Loan Transfer: Once approved, the loan amount will be transferred directly to your IPPB Savings Account.
