Keshav Maurya suspended Chief Development Officer, Etah after bribery video went viral.

Keshav Prasad Maurya, taking serious note of the issue of a video going viral on social media regarding demand for bribe by Chief Development Officer Nagendra Narayan Mishra posted in Etah district, has given instructions to take immediate strict action. In the preliminary investigation of the case, the government has initiated departmental proceedings against Shri Nagendra Narayan Mishra under Rule 7 of the Uttar Pradesh Government Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, considering the seriousness of the allegations prima facie and suspending him. Shri Maurya also said that this action will serve as an example to other officers, if any officer or employee is found involved in corruption by misusing his position, then strictest action will be taken against him. The aim of the government is to make the administrative system transparent, accountable and public welfare. The Deputy Chief Minister has directed the concerned departmental officers to ensure fair and timely investigation of the case and if the allegations are proved in the investigation, then further strict action should be taken as per the rules. He said that the state government is committed to maintaining cleanliness and honesty in the administrative system, considering public trust as paramount.
