Yogi government has come up with a very wonderful and profitable scheme for the farmers of Uttar Pradesh. Often, farmers have to struggle the most for irrigation when their fields are divided at different places. Moving heavy pumping sets from one place to another and incurring the expense of expensive diesel or electricity breaks the back of farmers. But now the UP government’s ‘Trolley Mounted Solar Pump Scheme’ has found a sure solution to this big problem. Under this scheme, now farmers will be able to easily take their solar pump to any field by fitting it on a trolley and that too at a very low cost.

What is the biggest feature of Trolley Mounted Solar Pump Scheme?

The biggest advantage of this government scheme is its portability i.e. the convenience of taking it anywhere. For those farmers whose land holdings are small or whose fields are in different directions, this scheme is no less than a boon. Now you will not need a separate borewell or pump for each field. You can transport the same trolley mounted solar pump to your different fields by attaching it to the back of a tractor or any vehicle. The best part is that it will run completely on solar energy, meaning no hassle of expensive diesel nor tension of power cuts. At present, the Minor Irrigation Department has set a target of distributing 23 such trolley mounted pumps in Mirzapur district for the financial year 2025-26, which will be used for irrigation from check dams and ponds.

Cost and subsidy: Farmers will have to spend only this much money from their own pocket.

According to the Minor Irrigation Department, a solar pump with 2 horse power (HP) capacity will be provided in this scheme. If we talk about the market price, the price of this solar pump is around Rs 1,44,526, while the cost of the trolley required to make it portable is around Rs 75,000. In this way the total cost of the entire system comes to Rs 2,19,526. But don’t worry, the government is giving huge subsidy on it. Under the scheme, huge discount of 60 percent on solar pump and 90 percent on trolley is being given. After deducting the grant, farmers will have to pay only Rs 76,000 as ‘Krishak Ansh’.

Allotment will be done on ‘first come, first served’ basis, apply immediately

If you also want to make your farming smart by taking advantage of this amazing scheme, then you will have to apply online for it. The department has made it clear that the allocation of these trolley mounted solar pumps will be done completely on the lines of ‘first come, first serve’. That means, only those farmers who register first will get priority. After the application is approved, the farmer will have to deposit his share of bank draft of Rs 76 thousand in the Minor Irrigation Department. For any kind of help or information related to the scheme, farmers can contact the Minor Irrigation Department office located at Vikas Bhawan in their district.
