Rahul Gandhi has filed his candidature from Wayanad Lok Sabha seat of Kerala. According to the rules of the Election Commission, along with filing the nomination, the candidate also has to submit an affidavit in which the candidate has to give details of his immovable property and cash.
According to Rahul Gandhi in the affidavit given along with his nomination papers in Wayanad, he has assets worth more than Rs 200 crore. According to the affidavit, the current assets are Rs 92459264. Whereas the value of self-acquired immovable property is Rs 79303977. The current market value of self acquired real estate is Rs 90489000. The value of the inherited property is Rs 21013598. The affidavit shows that Rahul Gandhi has a debt of Rs 4979184.
Whereas he has cash worth Rs 55000. Along with filing nomination in Wayanad, the former Congress President also started a road show for the election campaign. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Rahul Gandhi won the Wayanad seat by more than 4 lakh votes, while he lost his traditional seat Amethi. It has not yet been decided who Congress will field against Smriti Irani on the Amethi seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
