News India Live, Digital Desk: In today’s times, our lives have become such that we feel that all our work can be done while lying on the sofa or bed. Be it ordering household items or office meetings, everything has been reduced to the screen. But have you ever noticed what happens inside the body which was made for movement and hard work, when it remains stuck in one place for hours?

What we lovingly call ‘sweet laziness’ is actually an invitation for many serious diseases. Doctors and health experts believe that ‘laziness’ is not a mental condition but has become a deadly lifestyle.

There is a deep connection between insulin and laziness
When we do not move the body at all, our body’s ‘metabolism’ goes into deep sleep. Our body is not able to process glucose properly. When muscles are not used, they reduce the absorption of sugar (glucose) from the blood. this is where it starts Type-2 diabetes of. Gradually the effect of insulin starts reducing in the body and within no time the sugar level goes out of control.

Laziness: not limited to obesity only
Most people think that “I’m not fat, so I can be lazy.” But this is a misconception. Even if people who look fit from outside are not physically active, they are kept in the category of ‘Thin-Fat’. That is, they are thin from outside, but accumulated fat and increasing cholesterol near their organs take them closer to blood pressure and heart diseases.

Cycle of laziness: Once stuck, it is difficult to get out.
The biggest evil of laziness is that it creates more laziness. When you don’t work hard, your energy level drops, and when energy is low, you feel like doing nothing else. It is a circle that slowly pushes you towards exhaustion, stress and irritability.

What is the way to escape? (No need for expensive gym)
The solution does not lie in any big gym or expensive protein powder. Just make small changes to your daily routine:

  • Take a 5-minute walk after every 45 minutes of work.
  • Choose stairs instead of lift.
  • Walk briskly for at least 20 minutes a day.
  • Reduce screen time and keep yourself busy with some work.

Remember, your body is like a machine. If it remains in one place, it will ‘rust’, but if it keeps moving, it will keep you away from medicines for years. Make your health your first priority, because diseases also knock at the door where people hesitate to move!
