Weather today: If you are thinking of leaving the house, wait a minute! The Meteorological Department has issued a very big and important warning. For the next two days in many states of the country red alert Has been declared. This means that sudden heavy rains, stormy winds and hailstorms may occur, which will make the cold even worse.

This warning is very important especially for the farmer brothers and common people, because this unseasonal rain can have a negative impact on the crops and our daily life.

Why did the weather suddenly become like this?

Understand in simple language, when the icy winds coming from the mountains collide with the moist winds rising from the sea, it is creating dangerous weather. Due to this, the temperature can suddenly drop by 5 to 7 degrees, meaning the cold will increase suddenly. The risk of hailstorm is highest in the afternoon. There is also a fear of landslides in hilly areas.

Which states are most at risk?

If you live in these states, you need to take special care:

  • Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan: Heavy rain is expected in many districts here.
  • Bihar and Jharkhand: There is a danger of water logging in the low-lying areas situated on the banks of river Ganga.
  • Punjab and Haryana: Hail falling on farmers’ mustard and wheat crops can cause huge losses.
  • Himachal and Uttarakhand: Heavy snowfall has started here, due to which the cold will increase further in the plains.
  • Madhya Pradesh: Here too, there may be light to moderate rain in some parts.

What does red alert mean?

The Meteorological Department has issued three types of alerts, in which red alert is the most dangerous.

  • Red Alert: This means that the condition can be very serious. Very heavy rainfall (over 100 mm) and hail with speeds up to 40 kilometers per hour may occur. Hail falling so fast can break car windows and leave holes in tin roofs.
  • Orange and Yellow Alert: These are also warnings, but less serious than red alerts.

In big cities like Lucknow, Patna and Jaipur, water logging can cause traffic jams. There will be dense fog and power outages may also occur.

What harm can happen?

The biggest concern is of the farmers. Crops like wheat, gram and mustard can be completely destroyed by hail. Due to water logging and hail on the roads, there can be jams and vehicles can slip. Even roads may be closed in the mountains.
