– Health department team is going door-to-door and conducting health related checks.
Indore, January 14: 187 members of the health department conducted a survey on Tuesday in Bhagirathpura affected areas of Indore city of Madhya Pradesh. During this survey which lasted till late night, health related check-ups of women and children were done. Blood pressure, sugar and anemia tests were also done. In the last three days, a total of 16208 citizens were examined, in which 278 people were diagnosed with high blood pressure and 161 people were diagnosed with diabetes and were given health cards and advised to go to health centers for further testing.
In Bhagirathpura affected area, 109 patients came to OPD on Tuesday, out of which 05 came with diarrhea. No one was referred. Health cards have been distributed today to the residents of Bhagirathpura area, containing information about their health indices. Asha workers advised people to drink only boiled water and if treatment is going on, then complete the dosage of medicines.
Collector Shivam Verma said that 02 ambulances have been deployed in the area. 24×7 duty of doctors has been deployed in the area. On Tuesday, treatment, counseling and testing were done under ‘Abhiyan Swasthyavardhan’, in which people felt quite comfortable and safe and they said that through the health card, we are getting information about our health indicators and also getting to know the level of health. From the counseling given by the team, we are also getting information about what kind of lifestyle we should adopt, so that ourselves, family and community can remain healthy.
In fact, so far 23 people have died due to supply of contaminated water in Bhagirathpura area of Indore. Hundreds of people fell ill after drinking contaminated water, but due to the efforts of the district administration, people’s health is improving. However, at present the number of patients admitted in hospitals is 33, out of which 8 patients are admitted in ICU and undergoing treatment.
