Security forces have killed nine Naxalites in an encounter in Naxalite violence-affected Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. According to the police, nine Naxalites were killed by security forces in the forest of Landra village of Gangalur police station Vista. After receiving information about the movement of Naxalites in Gangalur police station area, security forces were sent for anti-Naxal operation on Monday. The team included personnel of DRG, STF and Cobra battalion of CRPF. At 6 o'clock on Tuesday morning, when the security forces team was in the forest, the Naxalites started firing. There was firing from both sides for a few minutes after which the Naxalites escaped. When the spot was searched, bodies of nine Naxalites, one LMG, automatic weapons, BGL launcher and other weapons and explosives were recovered from there. It is also being estimated that many Naxalites have been injured in the encounter.
42 lakh Naxalites were killed in Balaghat.
Two Naxalites carrying a reward of Rs 43 lakh have been killed in Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh. The firing started between 9 and 10 pm on Monday night in Kerajri forest. When the police searched the area, two bodies were found. In which one has been identified as Sajanti alias Kranti and Raghu alias Sher Singh.
