News India Live, Digital Desk: In Bihar Politics, Jitan Ram Manjhi, who is known for his outspokenness and calm personality, is often in the headlines. But recently, one of his videos was going viral on social media, which had created a new political controversy. In this video, it seemed as if Manjhi was claiming that his candidate had won the election despite losing by 2700 votes. Now Jitan Ram Manjhi himself has come forward and given clarification on this entire matter, and while presenting his side, has told the whole truth of this controversy.

What was this video controversy?

In this video that went viral on social media, Jitan Ram Manjhi was allegedly heard saying that in the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections, one of his candidates was trailing by 2700 votes, and then after some ‘efforts’ he was declared the winner. After this video surfaced, many political parties, especially Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), surrounded him. RJD alleged that Manjhi’s statement clearly shows that the election results were rigged. This issue had sparked heated debate in the political circles of Bihar.

Manjhi revealed the ‘whole truth’:

Jitan Ram Manjhi has now spoken in detail about these serious allegations against him and the controversial video. He has clarified that his statement in the video has been distorted and is being misinterpreted. Manjhi explained that he had not said that ‘he won the election by calling the DM’. Rather he said that after the election results were declared, his candidate had lost the election by only 12 votes (losing by 12 votes) and not won by 2700 votes. In the event of such a close defeat, he had requested the District Magistrate (contacted the DM) to conduct a ‘recounting’ of the votes.

He also clarified that there was no fault in the voting machines (no malfunction in the voting machines), nor was there any truth in the talk of any kind of ‘setting’. According to Manjhi, this was simply a part of his old speech which has been taken out of its original context. He has also expressed his displeasure at those who are trying to defame him.

After this clarification by Jitan Ram Manjhi, a new aspect of the ‘video controversy’ has come to light, which has made this political tug of war even more interesting. Now it has to be seen what impact his clarification will have on the electoral environment of Bihar.
