Farmer News: The Central Government has taken an important decision and the ban on export of onion has been lifted. The Committee of Ministers headed by Union Home Minister Amit Shah has approved the export of onion. To control the rising prices of onion in the country, the central government has banned its export. Its deadline was fixed for March 31, 2024, but the central government lifted the ban before the deadline.
Adequate stock of onion in Gujarat-Maharashtra
This decision has been approved in the meeting of the Committee of Ministers chaired by Home Minister Amit Shah. Talking about the reasons behind lifting the ban, the government has given this approval considering the stock of onion in Gujarat and Maharashtra. Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya informed Union Home Minister Amit Shah about the situation of onion farmers, after which the decision to lift the ban has been taken.
Permission to export 3 lakh metric tons of onion
In many earlier reports, it was hoped that the Central Government is planning to remove the ban on export of onion. The main reason for this is said to be the fall in the prices of onion and other vegetables in onion producing areas. Now the Union Committee of Ministers has decided to lift the ban and allowed export of 3 lakh metric tonnes of onion. Along with this, permission has also been given to export 50,000 tonnes of onion to Bangladesh.
