Pak Defense Minister on India-Pakistan relations: Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has expressed hope that relations with India will improve after the Lok Sabha elections.
Khawaja Asif gave the above statement outside Islamabad Parliament House and said that relations between India and Pakistan have their own history and we hope that relations between the two countries will improve after the Lok Sabha elections.
Regarding relations with Afghanistan, Asif also said that due to the fluctuations in the attitude of the Afghan government towards Pakistan, our options for the neighboring country are decreasing. Pakistan has always supported Afghanistan and fought wars for them. Despite this, organizations carrying out terrorist attacks on Pakistan are getting shelter on the soil of Afghanistan. We have also requested the Taliban government to take effective action to curb terrorism. However, the kind of proposal that Afghanistan is making is not practically possible to implement.
The statement of Pakistan's Defense Minister for India is unexpected. Earlier, Pakistan Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar had also admitted that Indian goods are being imported into Pakistan from third countries and we are having to pay higher prices for it. Under these circumstances, we will consider opening trade with India after consulting all parties.
