News India Live, Digital Desk: There is no end to the troubles for Azam Khan, who is considered a strong leader in the politics of Uttar Pradesh. When he was released after being in jail for a long time, it seemed that perhaps now would be a period of relief. But their freedom could last only for 55 days. A court in Rampur has found him and his son Abdullah Azam guilty in an old case and sentenced them to 7 years imprisonment, after which they once again had to go behind the bars.

What is the matter that sent you to jail again?

This entire matter is related to two PAN cards of Azam Khan’s son Abdullah Azam. Actually, in the year 2019, BJP MLA from Rampur Akash Saxena had filed a case. He had alleged in his complaint that Abdullah Azam had fraudulently made two PAN cards on two different dates of birth.

It was said in the complaint that a PAN card was made from Lucknow, in which his date of birth was recorded as January 1, 1993. Whereas, the second PAN card was made from Rampur, in which the date of birth was written as September 30, 1990. The allegation was that in the 2017 assembly elections, PAN card with second date of birth was used to show his age as 25 years, because according to the first date of birth, he was not eligible to contest the elections. In this entire case, Azam Khan was accused of supporting his son in the fraud conspiracy.

Court found guilty, sentenced to 7 years imprisonment

The special MP-MLA court of Rampur, after hearing the arguments of both the parties, convicted Azam Khan and his son Abdullah Azam in this case. The court sentenced both of them to 7 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50,000 each for the crime of forgery and fraud. As soon as the verdict came, the police took both of them into custody and started the process of sending them to jail.

This decision is being considered a big blow for Azam Khan, who is also fighting legal battles in many other cases. His going back to jail after a short release of 55 days has once again become a topic of discussion in political circles.
