It is noteworthy that Vistara Airlines is a Tata Group company and its merger is proposed with Air India, another Tata Group airline. According to media reports, under the new arrangement, Vistara pilots will get a fixed salary for 40 hours of flying. Also, they will be paid separately for additional flying hours. Currently, Vistara pilots are paid for 70 hours per flight. According to experts on the matter, many pilots of Vistara Airlines are angry with the new salary structure because it will reduce their salary.

The Civil Aviation Ministry has sought a detailed report from Vistara on the cancellation and major delay of the April 2 flight. A MOCA official told the media that the airline canceled or delayed more than 100 flights last week.
