India has reacted strongly to China naming 30 places in Arunachal Pradesh in Chinese. Responding to media queries on this matter, the official spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs Randhir Jaiswal said that China is continuing its foolish attempts to change the names of places in Arunachal Pradesh of India. We strongly reject such efforts.
Arunachal Pradesh is an integral and inseparable part of India.
He further said that issuing such a fake name by China will not change the reality that Arunachal Pradesh is and will always be an integral and inseparable part of India. Even before this, India has many times rejected China's claim regarding Arunachal Pradesh.
The fourth list includes 30 geographical names.
Let us tell you that according to a Chinese government newspaper, recently the Ministry of Civil Affairs released the fourth list of geographical names of the area of Arunachal Pradesh, which it calls Zangnan. Under this, China released a list of 30 names.
Even in March, China had claimed Arunachal Pradesh
Along with releasing the fourth list, it was also said that these names will be implemented from May 1, 2024. Let us tell you that China calls Arunachal Pradesh as Zhangnan. In early March, China had asserted its claim on this area and said that Arunachal Pradesh is an internal part of China. Not only this, China had also opposed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Arunachal Pradesh to inaugurate the Sela Tunnel on March 11. However, India has always rejected China's claim and considers Arunachal Pradesh as its integral part.
When was this list released before?
The Chinese government finalized 11 names in the third list for the region using Chinese characters, Tibetan and Pinyin, in April 2023, according to a Chinese newspaper report. The first list came in 2017 while the second list was released in 2021.
