The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has now come into action mode to make the Class 10th and 12th board exams completely cheating-free and transparent. Keeping in mind the board examinations of 2026, the board has issued a new and strict CCTV policy for the examination centres, which will be mandatory for every school to follow.
CBSE has made it clear that those schools which do not have CCTV cameras installed in every examination hall (classroom), will not be made exam centers for class 10th and 12th board examinations.
What is the new CCTV policy of CBSE?
Under this new policy, the exam centers will have to follow some strict rules:
- Watch every corner: CCTV coverage is not only inside the examination hall, but also in the classrooms. Entry-Exit Gate and children’s Desk It should be up to 100 meters wide, so that every activity can be captured on camera.
- Cameras will run 24×7: The CCTV cameras will not be switched off even for a moment during the entire duration of the examination and will be kept on continuously.
- Extracting video footage becomes easier: If any future investigation or review is required, video footage should be readily available.
Children will be told in advance – “You are on camera!”
It has also been said in this policy of CBSE that at various places in the school premises, Signage It has to be said that “You are under CCTV surveillance.” Apart from this, students will also be informed through school handbooks, notice boards and orientation programs that their examinations are being conducted completely under camera surveillance.
There will be 2 board exams from this year, the first exam is mandatory
Let us tell you that CBSE has also made many other big changes for the students from the current academic session. From this year students will get a chance to appear for board exams twice a year. The first of these examinations will be mandatory for all students.
CBSE has also announced the dates of 10th and 12th board exam 2026. The examinations for both classes will start from February 17, 2026. This year, approximately 45 lakh students from across the country and abroad (26 countries) will appear in these examinations, and all these students will now appear for their examinations under strict CCTV surveillance.
