How to make Dahi Aloo?
– To make curd potatoes, first boil the potatoes. If you are cooking for two people then two medium sized potatoes are enough.
Now beat the curd, thin it a bit and prepare the masala.
– To make Dahi Aloo, chop 1 medium sized onion, green chilli and 7-8 garlic cloves.
– After boiling the potatoes, peel them and cut them into thick pieces.
– Take a pan and add mustard oil in it and heat it. When the oil becomes hot, add asafoetida and cumin seeds to it.
– Now add 1-2 dry red chillies, finely chopped onion, green chillies and garlic and fry.
– Add turmeric and some red chilli powder, mix and then add potatoes.
-Let the potatoes cook in the spices for 5 minutes and then add whipped curd to it.
-After adding curd, it is important to keep stirring the vessel continuously, otherwise it may burst.
– Keep stirring the curd on medium flame for 1-2 minutes till it boils.
-You can adjust the consistency of the dish as per your preference, whether thick or thin. After boiling for about 10 minutes, add salt to it.
Let the curd and potatoes boil twice, then add chopped coriander and turn off the flame.
