India’s digital payment revolution is now making its mark across the world. If you are planning to visit Malaysia, then there is a great news for you. Now you will be able to make payments through your phone in Malaysia just like you do in India. Yes, India’s National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) in collaboration with Malaysia’s payment gateway Razorpay Curlec has launched the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) in Malaysia.
Now no worries about cash, no hassle of cards
Indian tourists will get the biggest benefit of this new facility. Now you will not need to exchange money again and again for shopping in Malaysia. Besides, you will also get rid of extra charges on foreign credit or debit cards. You will be able to make payments directly from your favorite apps like PhonePe, Google Pay, or Paytm by scanning the QR code. This will not only save your time, but it is also a safe and easy method.
This is also a good news for Malaysian shopkeepers. They will now be able to take payments directly into their accounts from Indian customers, making doing business easier and faster than before.
India’s UPI reached 9 countries of the world
Malaysia is the ninth country where Indian UPI facility has been launched. Earlier, UPI has also made its place in France, UAE, Mauritius, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Bhutan, Nepal and Qatar. This shows the digital strength of India and how the system created by us is making life easier for people all over the world today.
On this occasion, Razorpay co-founder Shashank Kumar said, “UPI has changed the way of making payments in India. Now we are taking the same trust and ease to Malaysia also.”
This step is not only a big relief for Indian travellers, but it will also further strengthen the trade relations between the two countries. It is expected that in the coming time, UPI will reach many more countries.
