Why is this month special?

- Special importance of bathing and donation: According to mythology, Satyayuga started from this month. Therefore, the special importance of bathing in holy rivers has been mentioned in Margashirsha. It is said that bathing in any holy river in this month gives the same virtue as bathing in Ganga. - Tradition of Shankha Puja: Worship of conch shell in the month of Margashirsha is also considered very fruitful, because conch shell is considered a symbol of Lord Vishnu and Shri Krishna.
