Farmers distressed due to unseasonal rain in UP, CM Yogi sent officers, gave strict instructions

News India Live, Digital Desk: The unseasonal rains due to Cyclone Montha in Uttar Pradesh have drawn lines of deep concern on the foreheads of the farmers. In many districts of the state, especially in Purvanchal, fields are lying or cut ready for harvesting. paddy crop Has suffered heavy damage. In this difficult time, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath (CM Yogi Adityanath) has immediately taken charge realizing the seriousness of the matter and has issued strict instructions to the officials to provide all possible help to the farmers.

CM Yogi called a high-level meeting

Seeing this suffering of farmers, Chief Minister Yogi called a high-level meeting on Friday. In this meeting, he took stock of the damage caused by rain in different districts of the state and ordered the officials to work at ‘Ground Zero’.

Officers received 5 strict instructions

The Chief Minister has said in clear words that this is a time of crisis for the farmers and any kind of negligence will not be tolerated at this time. He gave the following instructions to the officials:

1. Go to field immediately: District Magistrates (DMs) of all districts and revenue department teams have been ordered to immediately visit the affected areas and accurately assess the damage.
2. Deliver report in 24 hours: Expediting the process of damage assessment, the CM has said that the initial report should be submitted to the government within 24 to 48 hours.
3. Communicate directly with the farmer: Officials have been instructed not to just do the paperwork, but to directly meet the farmers, listen to their problems and assure them of all possible help from the government.
4. There should be no delay in relief and compensation: As soon as the assessment work is completed, the process of providing compensation amount to the eligible farmers under the Crop Insurance Scheme and other government schemes should be started without any delay.
5. Make arrangements in agricultural markets: Farmers whose harvested crops have become wet due to rain should be provided necessary facilities to dry and sell their produce in agricultural markets.

What is the pain of farmers?

This unseasonal rain has ruined months of hard work of the farmers.

• The quality of paddy will deteriorate: Paddy grains may turn black due to immersion in water, due to which they will not get the right price in the market.
• Delay in sowing of potato-mustard: In the fields which have been flooded, there will be a delay in sowing of next crops like potato and mustard, which will affect the yield.

These quick instructions of CM Yogi have given a big relief and hope to the farmers in the time of crisis. Now it has to be seen how quickly and sensitively the officers at the ground level follow these orders and provide help to the farmers.
