Palamu, 1 April (Hindustan Reporter) Congress workers, under the auspices of Palamu District Congress Committee, staged a dharna at Chhamhuhan in Daltonganj against the Income Tax Department giving notice to the Indian National Congress to pay Rs 1823 crore and forcibly withdrawing Rs 135 crore from the bank account. It was presided over by District President Jaish Ranjan Pathak alias Bittu Pathak, while the operations were done by Treasurer Ajay Sahu.
On the occasion, the District President said that due to fear of defeat in the Lok Sabha elections, BJP is adopting various tactics. The Income Tax Department in the country is working under the policy of giving exemption to BJP and looting from Congress. According to the information about BJP's account available on the Election Commission's website, 1297 people have deposited Rs 42 crore in BJP's account in 2017-18 without complete information including name and address.
The Income Tax Department froze our accounts on Congress's deposit of Rs 14 lakhs and moreover, a notice of Rs 1823 crores was sent to Congress through the Income Tax Department, but BJP's Rs 42 crores were not visible.
