However, the complainant Mahinder Kaur’s Lawyer Raghbir Singh Behniwal rejected Kangana’s claims. According to Raghbir Singh, “Kangana is saying that the retweet was a mistake and there was no intention to target anyone…” But according to my client’s husband Labh Singh, Kangana has never apologized before… She had applied for permanent exemption from personal appearance due to security reasons, which we had opposed. Labh Singh said that his wife Mahinder Kaur could not attend the hearing due to ill health.

This case was registered in 2021… when Kangana has Had shared a photo of Mahinder Kaur of Bahadurgarh Jandian village during the farmers’ protest and commented, “Such women are available for protests for Rs 100…”. There was an uproar over this and Mahinder Singh filed a defamation case. Kangana’s appearance took place as per the instructions of the Supreme Court. Earlier, Bathinda Court, Punjab and Haryana High Court and the Supreme Court had rejected their applications for exemption from personal appearance and virtual hearing.
The actress’s petition to quash the case was also rejected. Due to security reasons, the district court complex was declared a high security area. Additional police force was deployed and barricades were put up.
