Lok Sabha Elections 2024: All parties have started campaigning for the Lok Sabha elections. In this sequence, Trinamool Congress chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has also started election campaign. CM Mamata Banerjee on Sunday mocked the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA's target of crossing 400.
While addressing an election rally in Krishnanagar in support of TMC candidate Mahua Moitra, Mamata Didi had given an open challenge to BJP, which had given the slogan of crossing 400, to win at least 200 seats.
In her speech, Mamata Banerjee targeted BJP and said that BJP is saying 'cross 400', I challenge them to cross the benchmark of 200 seats first. BJP had set a target of more than 200 seats in the 2021 West Bengal Assembly elections but it had to be satisfied with only 77 seats. Some of these 77 joined us.
Not only this, calling BJP a 'Jumla' party, the TMC supremo also accused them of “spreading lies” about the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Mamta said that she will not allow CAA to be implemented in the state. He warned people that anyone applying for CAA would become a foreigner.
Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee said, “CAA is a trap to alienate legitimate citizens. Once you implement CAA, NRC will also be implemented. We will not allow CAA or NRC in West Bengal. Do not fall prey to the false assurances of the Central Government.” ,
Rammata Banerjee also accused India Bloc's partners CPI(M) and Congress of “joining hands with the BJP” in West Bengal at the Vivar rally. He said, “There is no India alliance in West Bengal. CPI(M) and Congress are working for BJP in Bengal. I have created this Bharat block and given it this name. We will take care of it after the elections.”
