Mumbai: The Sessions Court found the 51-year-old unemployed accused guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment in the case of murder of a 59-year-old retired bank employee over a tenancy dispute in a building in Borivali. The daughter of the deceased was a witness in the case and testified about how her mother's hair was slashed with a knife.

She was returning from Borivali station market with her mother. He himself reached the third floor and mother was still below. The door of the flat was about to open when mother screamed and she went down. She saw the accused holding her mother's hair in one hand and a knife in the other hand. He was asking for property documents from his mother. Pooja and her mother asked her to talk to the agent. As soon as Pooja and her mother reached the flat, the accused followed them. A neighbor tried to stop him but he threatened her. After opening the door of Pooja's flat, the accused stabbed her mother twice in the chest.
