Amritsar: A General House meeting was held after the Executive Committee to present the budget for the year 2024-25 and discuss and approve other agendas of all schools, colleges and institutions under the Chief Khalsa Diwan at Gurdwara Sri Kalgidhar Sahib. Which is headed by Chairman Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijhar did it.
After passing the budget and other agenda in the working committee, according to the agenda read by Honorary Secretary Savinder Singh Katthoonangal, Chief Khalsa Diwan President Dr. Sharing information about the budget, Inderbir Singh said that this time the estimated budget of Diwan has been kept at Rs 169 crore 83 lakh. CKD's total income has increased by 21 percent this year compared to the last financial year, while expenses are estimated to increase by 26 percent this year compared to last year. Giving detailed information, Ajitpal Singh Aneja, member of the Finance Committee of CKD and former chairperson of the Chartered Accountants Institute, Amritsar, said that under the amount allocated for the purchase and construction of new land of Attari School running under the Diwan, the budget of CKD 2024-25. Land in. 3 crore 50 lakh for construction, 5 crore for construction on the land purchased for the school in Batala, 90 lakh for purchase of new land in Ansal North, 3 crore for purchase of new land for the school. An amount of Rs 1 crore 30 has been reserved for purchasing land in Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur Lakh, and Rs 1 crore has been reserved for purchasing new land in Sur Singh. Along with this, Rs 16 crore has also been kept for the expansion of CKD schools. During this session, construction of swimming pools has also been proposed in three schools Pandori Khajoor, Tarn Taran and Shubham Enclave.
Especially there is a plan to spend Rs 1 crore for religious propagation and Rs 1 crore 37 lakh for model schools. During the meeting, a charitable trust for free books, uniforms and other expenses of the students of CKD Charitable Schools was launched with a donation of Rs. 1 lakh from Dr. Inderbir Singh Nijhar, President, Chief Khalsa Diwan, Rs. 1 lakh from Honorary Secretary Savinder Singh Katthoonangal. 1 lakh, 50 thousand on behalf of Vice President Jagjit Singh, 50 thousand on behalf of Additional Honorary Secretary and Head Office member in-charge Sukhjinder Singh Prince, 50 thousand on behalf of local President Kuljeet Singh, 50 thousand on behalf of Additional Honorary Secretary Jaspal Singh Dhillon, Bhagwantpal Singh Sachar contributed 50 thousand, Vice President Santokh Singh Sethi contributed 21 thousand. Along with this, other Dewan members also started the trust by investing a large amount of service fee in this trust with a total amount of about Rs 10 lakh.
During the meeting, Vice President Jagjit Singh proposed to take legal action against Amarjit Singh Bhatia who had spread false propaganda against Chief Khalsa Diwan, on which the House agreed. At the end of the meeting the Diwan members discussed ideas for development and expansion in all aspects of the Diwan.
On this occasion, around 125 members like Patron Rajmahinder Singh Majitha, Honorary Secretary Ramneek Singh, Honorary Joint Secretary Engineer Jaspal Singh, SP Singh Oberoi etc. attended the meeting.
