During a meeting in Kulpi in Mathurapur Lok Sabha constituency on Saturday, Abhishek took a dig at the BJP and said, “BJP is not getting candidates in Diamond Harbour! BJP has not yet announced candidates for four seats in the state. These include Abhishek's parliamentary constituency Diamond Harbor and Birbhum, Asansol and Jhargram.
Abhishek also took a dig at Kulpi's meeting over BJP's talk of increasing the fund of Lakshmi Bhandar. Trinamool general secretary said, “BJP says that if they come to power, they will increase the amount of Lakshmi Bhandar to Rs 3000. They are in power in 27 states of the country. Did this happen in any state? He said that if BJP promises to provide free gas, I will withdraw my Trinamool candidates from all 42 Lok Sabha seats.
