Jaipur, 30 March (Hindustan Reporter). 'The world is a poem, come, get colored in its colours', 'There was neither a king nor a queen, it was a very big story', these are the stories of that dream-filled world which is being shaped by the imaginations of children. Bukru Children's Literature Festival, organized by Jawahar Kala Kendra to connect children with books through such unique stories, anecdotes and creative activities, started on Saturday. As part of the literary activities being organized by JKK, the festival being organized under Kala Sansar was inaugurated by Priyanka Jodhawat, Additional Director General of the Centre, by drawing colors of imagination on the doodle wall. Children are taking part in this festival in large numbers along with their parents. Children participated in 26 activities on the first day. Children aged 4 to 14 can attend the festival for free on Sunday from 11 am to 4:30 pm. Kahani Kund, Craft Corner, Doodle Wall, Auditorium, Studio Zone have been created in the festival where different activities are taking place. Along with this, a book fair has also been organized where works related to children's literature can be purchased. Not only this, there are also ongoing activities like Land of Story and Emo Tree.
Laughing children started gathering at Jawahar Kala Kendra in the morning. There was a glow on his face that he was lost in his own world, a world which is different from the elders. They make dreams come true on the canvas of their mind with the colors of imagination. Children reached the session according to age group. In Kahani Kund, the instructors took the children on a creative journey with stories. Shivani Kandoliya told the story through puppets. Swecha Prasad narrated the story of three brothers who went on an adventure in the forest in Akkad-Bakkad Tales. Similarly, Vasundhara Bahuguna, Sherlyn Pimenta, Mamta Naini, Deepa Kiran connected children to the world of imagination through different stories.
Converted into Krishnayana Studio. Here drama director Abhishek Mudgal tried to create different characters and connect them with theater through voice modulation. Anupam Arunachalam gave an opportunity to all the children to express the love between brothers and sisters. Deepa Kiran took the children to the world of logical and funny answers of the clown Tenali Ram. Nandini Nair taught children the importance of asking questions through Mini's stories.
In Rangayan Auditorium, Vikramjit Singh Rooprai, in a fun way, introduced the children to the scientific reasons behind the construction of stepwells and wells. He told that there is science behind everything, we just do not see it. Kamal Kabuliwala's session was for both children and parents. Here we were taught to connect with our mother tongue and avoid excessive use of mobile. Gayatri highlighted the importance of expressing emotions. Deepa Aggarwal's session was related to interesting experiments related to food. In the craft corner, Shruti Hemani, Ikrup Sandhu, Team Adigami, Team Neela House taught children the skills of making different crafts. In the Doodle Wall session, Boski Jain, Ajit Narayan, Likla and Sherlyn Pimenta taught the intricacies of visual art.
Bukru Festival Director Swati Rai said that books are children's best friends. In the present times, parents complain that their children are moving away from studies. We need to change the approach. Writers are closer to children because they put their feelings into words and convert them into books, they see everything from the children's point of view. Bukru Festival is an opportunity to introduce children to such litterateurs.
