Regarding preparations for peaceful, fair and free voting in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, an important bilateral meeting was held under the chairmanship of Gujarat Director General of Police Vikas Sahay and Rajasthan Director General of Police Utkal Ranjan Sahu at the Police Headquarters in Jaipur on Saturday.
In the meeting, the police officers of both the states shared the list of wanted criminals of their respective states in view of the Lok Sabha elections, while discussing about identifying the liquor and drug mafia gangs and arresting them soon, strict action should be taken in this regard. It was decided to take action. During the meeting, DGP Sahay of Gujarat and DGP Sahu of Rajasthan decided to impose strict blockade in the districts located on the border between the two, setting up adequate number of check posts, checking liquor warehouses and checking of vehicles. Agreed to work in harmony by exchanging necessary information to strictly stop the movement of illicit liquor, illegal cash and illegal weapons.
There will be strict monitoring on the borders on important days
During the meeting, the elections to be held in Rajasthan in two phases on 19th and 26th April and in Gujarat in one phase on 07th May, the Rajasthan-Gujarat border will be patrolled by the police of both the states on the polling day and surrounding days. But the issue of tightening the noose around criminals by imposing strict blockade was also discussed in detail.
Campaign will be launched to arrest wanted criminals
Along with this, the top police officers of both the states also decided to run a campaign by the police teams of the border districts of both the states to arrest the criminals wanted in the state of Gujarat and resident in Rajasthan and similarly, to arrest the criminals wanted in Rajasthan and resident in the state of Gujarat. Went. Similarly, strict monitoring will be done in collaboration with each other to keep an eye on unwanted activities and fake news on social media on the voting day and its surrounding days. A decision was also taken in this meeting for the police teams of both the states to work together in strictly observing Drought Day during the Lok Sabha elections, especially in the border districts of Rajasthan and Gujarat.
