The central government is now preparing to crack down on coaching centers that talk big. The government is continuously trying to curb the arbitrariness of coaching centers and has now taken important initiatives in this direction. The government has made preparations to stop the arbitrariness of these coaching centres. The government has now prepared a draft of new guidelines to curb misleading advertisements of coaching centres. In this draft, it has been said that Cogin Center cannot make any claim in its advertisements of 100% selection or providing job after the course. To curb the arbitrariness of coaching centres, the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has drafted these rules. And now it has been revealed. The Consumer Affairs Ministry has sought public feedback on the draft within 30 days. The new rules prepared by the Central Government state that no coaching institute can hide important information in the advertisement. It is noteworthy that coaching institutes often hide important information in their advertisements. Like is the court paid or free, what is the duration of the course? Which course did the successful candidate choose and for how many days of coaching? Also, advertisements cannot misrepresent the success rate of the organization. Coaching institutes claim rankings and selections without any proof.
Candidate's photo cannot be used without permission
According to the new rules framed by the government, unless the consent of the candidate is taken, coaching centers cannot use the photo, video or name or description of the candidate in their advertisement. It is also not appropriate for coaching institutes to give information about the student's rank, marks without his/her permission. Let us tell you that before preparing these guidelines by the government, a panel was constituted on 8 December 2023. The panel also took advice from people associated with coaching institutes over a period of one month.
Guidelines were recently announced
Some time ago, the Central Government had published guidelines for all private coaching institutes in the country. In this, registration was made mandatory. Apart from this, there is also a ban on admitting children below 16 years of age in coaching institutes. This guide-line was published by the Central Government in view of the increase in cases of suicide by coaching class students in the country. Coaching institutes should also keep in mind various parameters including fire safety, safety of the building and not only this they should also take care of the psychology and mental health of the students.
