As the last date to file income tax returns (ITR) is coming near, the beat of taxpayers and chartered accountants (CAS) is also intensifying. This year, there are many problems due to many technical problems and changes in the process of filing tax.
In the midst of this rage, the Chartered Accountants Association of Karnataka has made a big demand from the government. He has written to the Finance Ministry to pursue the last date to file an ITR by writing a letter to the Ministry of Finance.
What is CAS demand?
The association says that there are many technical disturbances on the Income Tax website, due to which taxpayers and CAS are finding it difficult to fill ITR. He says that due to these problems, it is almost impossible to file ITR of all people till the deadline.
Therefore, he has demanded the government that the last date to file ITR for audit cases 30 September Is it to increase it 15 October 2025 Be done
What is the delay being delayed?
The association has also counted some concrete reasons in its letter, such as:
- Website slow pace: The income tax portal is not working properly, which takes a lot of time to upload the ITR.
- Constant change in form: The government has recently made some changes in ITR forms, which are taking time to understand and implement it properly.
- Mistakes in AIS and Form 26AS: Annual Information Statement (AIS) and Form 26AS are showing wrong information many times, which the process of fixing and matching ITR is quite long and tedious.
Due to all these reasons, the work of CAS has increased a lot and there is heavy pressure on them to finish work on time.
Will the government extend the date?
Now the biggest question is whether the government will accept this demand for CAS? If you look at the trend of the last few years, the government has been very strict in extending the last date. However, if the problems are really serious and most of the taxpayers are facing problems, then the government can consider extending the date to give relief to the people.
Currently, all taxpayers and CAS are eyeing the Finance Ministry. He hopes that the government will understand their troubles and will give them some more time to file ITR. Until there is no official announcement, the advice is to try to file ITR as soon as possible from your side.
