Los Angeles: Meta company has announced that the service of Facebook News Tab in America and Australia will be stopped from April. Last year, this service was stopped in France, Britain and Germany.
News tab service in Facebook was started in 2019. In this service, news was coming in Facebook feed. News from different news agencies or websites reach users through a feed. But now the company Meta has started shutting down the service of Facebook News tab saying that the amount of political news in it has increased a lot and it has become very difficult to control it. This service was stopped in Germany, Britain and France about a year ago. Now even users of Australia and America will not be able to avail this service. The company has decided to stop services in these two countries from April.
An official statement from the company has said that the feed which used to come through the tab has been stopped. Additionally, news organizations, journalists, writers can post articles and news through posts. There will be no impact on service. Not only this, this service will be closed in the news feed and this will not affect the fact check feature of Facebook. The decision to discontinue this service will not affect the system for reviewing posts or news spreading misinformation.
