Mumbai: Crime Branch Unit 12 has arrested a fake doctor on Wednesday. Who was running a clinic in Malvani West for two years. Parvez Shaikh, 46, was running the clinic despite studying only till Class 12. The court has handed him over to police custody till April 1.
Earlier, Sheikh was working in the ICU ward of Aggarwal Hospital in Mulund. During his tenure at Aggarwal Hospital in Mulund from February 2018 to November 2018, 149 patients died. According to the Mulund Police FIR, a case of murder was registered against him.
According to information received from the police, Sheikh's 32-year-old wife has a Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS) degree from Nashik Medical College. However, the clinic was registered in his name. But instead her husband was running his own clinic and despite knowing this, she did not take any step to stop him. After the police received this information, they along with the medical team of the Municipality raided Shop No. 3, Khan Estate at 1.30 pm, where Shaikh was arrested and his medicines were confiscated.
Later investigation revealed that Shaikh lived on the first floor above this hospital and also performed operations there. When he was asked for his school, college and medical certificates, he could not produce any documents. He also said that by working in a private clinic he got to know about some medicines and surgeries.
