This time the mosquito -borne Chikungunya virus (Chikungunya) has infected thousands of people in many districts of China, after which the Chinese Health Ministry had to announce an emergency campaign. Chikungunya is spreading rapidly in Foshan
According to Chinese media reports, Chikungunya fever is spreading rapidly in the southern Chinese city of Foshan. The local health authority of Shunde city of China has said that there have been cases of chikungunya. Till Friday, the number of Chikungunya’s reinforced cases in the region alone has reached 1,161.
The virus cases have also been reported in other cities in China like Shunday, Lesong, Bijio, Chengkun, Nanhai and Changcheng.
