Aadhar Card Update: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has issued an important update regarding the Aadhaar card. A new list of documents required for making or changing Aadhaar cards has been released. This new rule will be applicable to Indian citizens, OCI card holders, children above 5 years of age and long -term visas. If you want to make a new Aadhaar card or make a change in the current Aadhaar, then you have to prepare the document according to this new list.

Documents required for identification

The UIDAI has set different documents for the four main evidence – identification, address, date of birth and relationship – for Aadhaar update. Identification proof will require either of the following documents:

Passport

PAN card

Voter ID

Driving license

Photo identity card issued by government company

MNREGA card

Pensioner card

Document for address of address

Electricity, water, gas or landline bill

Bank passbook

Ration card

Driving license

rental agreement

Pension document

Address certificate issued by government

Documents required for date of birth

School marksheet

Birth certificate

Passport

Government certificate showing date of birth

Free updated facility

UIDAI has increased the facility of free online update of Aadhaar card till 14 June 2026. In today’s time, Aadhaar card has become a very important document. Without this, necessary work can be stuck and there may be difficulty in availing government schemes.
