The Election Commission of India will provide special facility for voting rights in the Lok Sabha elections to such displaced Kashmiri people who have an authorized certificate from the Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. This information was given by District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Shimla Anupam Kashyap on Friday.
He said that such displaced Kashmiri citizens can fill Form-M or Form 12-C through ERO-Net and submit it along with the displacement certificate to the concerned Electoral Registration Officer or Assistant Electoral Registration Officer wherever they are residing. Only the head of the family can also register all other eligible family members by filling Form-M or Form 12-C. He said that apart from this, the said voters will also have the facility to exercise their franchise at the special polling centers established by the Commission, which will be set up by the Commission in Delhi, Udhampur and Jammu, there also they will get the benefit of the facility of voting on Form-M. You can also avail the facility of postal ballot through Form 12-C. Its format can be downloaded through the website of Election Commission of India https://eci.gov.in and Voter Service Portal.
He requested all the displaced Kashmiri citizens to provide their mobile numbers for the above purpose so that the said number can be linked with their voter registration. The District Election Officer requested all the displaced Kashmiri citizens to avail the facility under this facility.
