
Chhatarpur: A major accident took place on Thursday morning in the famous Bageshwar Dham located in Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh. A tin shed for the visitors fell on the devotees standing below due to rain, causing chaos. Shyamlal Kaushal (50 years), a devotee resident of Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh, died in this accident, while eight others were injured.
According to eyewitnesses, the devotees stood under the shed to avoid the rain after the morning aarti. Meanwhile, an iron angle of the shed broke down directly on the head of Shyamlal Kaushal, causing him to die on the spot. A total of eight people including Rajesh, Soumya, Parul and Unnati have been injured in this accident, who have been admitted to the district hospital immediately. These devotees came to Dham on the occasion of the upcoming birthday (July 4) of Peethadhishwar Dhirendra Shastri of Bageshwar Dham.
As soon as the information was received, the police and local administration reached the spot and started relief and rescue operations. The bodies of the dead have been sent for postmortem. The incident took place a day before Dhirendra Shastri’s birthday celebrations.
