Weather Update: In many states of the country, rapid changes in weather are being seen in two days. While there are rainy conditions in the Northeast due to western disturbances, the temperature is increasing rapidly in many parts of Central India including the North. The record of the last 10 years was broken in the capital of Uttarakhand.
For the first time in a decade, the temperature in March was recorded at 31.2 degrees Celsius. Heat wave has started in Bhopal. Also, due to western disturbance, a rapid drop in temperature was recorded in the eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh.
There is a possibility of snowfall in the hilly areas of Uttarakhand today i.e. on Friday. According to the Meteorological Center, there is a possibility of snowfall in areas at an altitude of more than four thousand meters. According to the department, there is a possibility of light rain in some areas of Dehradun including Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, Tehri and Pauri districts. IMD has issued a yellow alert for strong winds, lightning and hailstorm in these districts.
According to India Meteorological Department (IMD) data, light rain and snowfall occurred at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh during the last 24 hours. Light to moderate rain and snowfall occurred at many places in Northeast Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim.
Apart from this, light to moderate rain was also recorded in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Odisha, Ganga coastal areas and West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, north-eastern states and parts of North Karnataka, Kerala and Maharashtra.
The weather patterns are changing rapidly in Madhya Pradesh. Here, places like Mandsaur, Neemuch, Ratlam and Damoh are in the grip of heat. Due to western disturbance and trough line, clouds are hovering over cities like Indore, Chhatarpur, Satna, Maihar and Rewa. Here another western disturbance is expected to become active from today i.e. March 29, which may cause light rain in 29 districts of the state including Gwalior and Jabalpur.
On March 31, there is a possibility of cloudy sky and rain in Singrauli, Chiri, Rewa, Mauganj, Satna, Shahdol, Umaria, Dindori, Chhindwara, Seoni, Mandla, Balaghat, Panna, Chhatarpur, Maihar and Parhuna. Apart from this, Vidisha, Rajgarh, Betul, Guna, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Datia, Singrauli, Dheri, Rewa, Mauganj, Satna, Dindori, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Seoni, Mandla, Balaghat, Panna, Damoh, Sagar, Chhatarpur. There is a possibility of light rain in Tikamgarh, Niwari, Maihar and Parhuna.
According to the latest forecast of IMD, heat wave is likely to occur at various places in Vidarbha on March 29 and 30, 2024. Besides, light to moderate rain/storm activity is likely over Northwest India during March 28-31.
Heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places in the Western Himalayan region on March 29 and 30, 2024. There is a possibility of heat wave at various places in Western Madhya Pradesh on 28 March 2024.
