Private schools closed: Private schools running without recognition in Haryana will no longer be able to enroll children. Private schools will be allowed admission only up to the class for which they are recognized. The list of all illegally run schools will be published in newspapers so that parents do not enroll their children in them.

The responsibility of District Education Officers and Elementary Education Officers has been fixed for closing unrecognized schools. Orders in this regard have been issued by the Directorate of Education. Private school operators have been warned that schools which do not have the approval of the Education Department, they should not enroll students from April 1. If any such case is found then strict action will be taken against them.

Schools will be strictly monitored

Along with making the list of unrecognized schools public, admission related activities in these schools will also be closely monitored. Based on the report of the Block Education Officers, the District Education Officer will do physical verification of the unrecognized private schools and then inform about their closure.

The Education Department has also tightened its noose on private schools running branches in other villages on the basis of a recognition. A large number of recognized schools are selling their names to unrecognized schools running in different villages. According to the rules, the school which has got recognition can run the school at the same place in the village or city. On opening a branch in another village, fresh approval has to be taken from the Education Department.

Teams were formed on cluster basis for raids

Teams have been formed on cluster basis to raid unrecognized schools. Team members will inspect the schools of their cluster and close down the illegally running schools. There are a large number of schools which have recognition for smaller classes, but are taking admissions for larger classes. The screws will also be tightened on these schools. So far, 282 unrecognized schools have been identified, which will be closed.

327 private schools with temporary recognition will also have to fulfill the conditions

327 schools with temporary recognition will also be allowed to take admission in the new session only if they fulfill the conditions. If any school is operated without fulfilling the conditions then it will be considered an offense as per Haryana School Education Rules 2003 and legal action will be taken.
