Ingredients for making Dahi Bhalla
- 1/3 cup mango dal
- 2/3 cup urad dal
- 300 grams curd
- 1 teaspoon powdered sugar
- 1 piece chopped ginger
- 2 chopped green chillies
- 1/2 tsp roasted cumin
- 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
- 1/4 tsp black salt
- 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida
- 1 tbsp green chutney
- 1 spoon sweet chutney
- 8 raisins
- oil for frying
How to make Dahi Bhalla
- First of all, soak Mughal and Urad dal separately for about 5 hours.
- – Now completely drain the water from the moong and grind them finely in a mixer jar.
- Similarly, extract water from urad dal and grind it finely.
- – Now add mug and urad dal paste and mix well.
- Keep stirring this paste for about 10 minutes.
- – To check whether the batter is whipped well or not, add water to it and check.
- If the batter floats well then it means that it has been whipped well.
- – Now add ginger, green chillies and raisins to the paste and beat it some more.
- – Now add about 1 liter of normal water, 1 glass of hot water and asafoetida in a vessel.
- – Heat oil in a pan and put Bhalla in the oil.
- – Now pour oil on the bhalla and fry it till it puffs up well.
- – When Bhalla turns golden brown, take it out from the oil.
- – Now put all the balls in water and keep them like this for half an hour.
- – Now prepare the curd mixture for Bhalla.
- For this, mix powdered sugar in curd.
- Now before serving, press the bhalla gently and take it out of the water.
- Now put the Bhalla in a bowl and add curd, cumin powder, black pepper powder, black salt, sweet and green chutneys and serve.
