Police will be strengthened in Jammu and Kashmir, removal of AFSPA will be considered; Home Minister Amit Shah announced the scheme

Amit Shah on AFSPA Act: Lok Sabha elections are going to be held in the country soon. However, the Election Commission of India has not yet announced the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. There is a possibility that after the Lok Sabha elections, assembly elections may be held there. Then Home Minister Amit Shah had talked about removing AFSPA from Jammu and Kashmir.

Home Minister Amit Shah said that the Central Government will consider removing the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) from Jammu and Kashmir. Speaking to a Kashmiri news channel, Amit Shah said that the government plans to withdraw the troops from the Union Territory and hand over the responsibility of law and order on the anti-terrorism front to the Jammu and Kashmir Police.

He further said that earlier there was no trust in Jammu and Kashmir Police, but today they are leading the operation. On the question of AFSPA, Amit Shah said that we will also think about removing AFSPA. We will talk to the youth of Kashmir and not to those organizations whose roots are in Pakistan.
