Hoshiarpur: Punjab Vigilance Bureau has arrested Goods Patwari Paramveer Singh posted at Tehsil Office Dasuha, Hoshiarpur on charges of demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 5200 during the ongoing campaign against corruption in the state. Let it be known that the said accused was evading his arrest in this case for the last one month.
Giving this information here today, the official spokesperson of the State Vigilance Bureau said that the said goods employee has been arrested after investigating the complaint of Manpreet Kaur, resident of Panwan village of Hoshiarpur district on the Chief Minister's Anti-Corruption Action Line.
He further said that during the investigation of the said complaint, it was revealed that the said accused had taken a bribe of Rs 5,200 from the complainant for the demarcation of his land and had kept his application pending for three months.
Let us tell you that after the completion of the investigation, a case was registered under the Anti-Corruption Act in Vigilance Bureau Jalandhar Range last month, but since then the accused Patwari was evading his arrest. He said that the accused will be produced in the court tomorrow and further investigation of the case is going on.
