The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of deteriorating weather patterns for the next two days in different parts of the country. Due to the influence of an active Western disturbance and other seasonal systems, heavy rains, strong thunderstorms and hailstorms have also been feared in many states of North India to Central and Eastern India.
These states will have special effects:
According to the Meteorological Department, there will be a big change in weather in Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi-NCR and many areas of Uttar Pradesh in the coming 48 hours. These areas may receive heavy rains with thunderstorms, as well as strong winds at a speed of 30 to 50 kilometers per hour. In some places hails may also fall, there is a possibility of damage to crops.
Apart from this, the weather is likely to be bad in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal and Odisha. In these states, light to moderate rains can lead to heavy rains and lightning incidents at some places. Rain and storm activities can also be seen in the northeastern states like Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. Light to moderate rains are also expected in the next few days in the coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe in South India.
Why is the weather changing?
According to meteorologists, this change is mainly due to a strong Western disturbance that is active on northern Pakistan and surrounding areas. Along with this, cyclonic winds over Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh are also promoting this seasonal activity. Due to the joint influence of these systems, moist winds from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal are moving towards the plains, creating favorable conditions for rain and storm.
The Meteorological Department has issued Yellow and Orange Alerts for the respective states, advising people not to be vigilant and unnecessarily not out of the house. Farmers have also been suggested to take appropriate measures to protect their crops.
