The incident occurred around 6 pm on Tuesday evening. Policemen heard loud sounds of bullets from the PAC camp. When they reached closer, PAC jawan Ram Prasad of 32nd battalion, resident of Jais, Amethi, was lying soaked in blood. Seeing this, there was chaos in the campus. SP Security Pankaj Pandey immediately took the injured soldier to Shri Ram Hospital.
Firing took place while cleaning the rifle

X-ray revealed that the bullet had hit the left side of the chest.
