New Delhi: Korona has knocked again. Asian governments are worried about Corona emerging and rapid growth in Asia. In Hong Kong, in the last ten weeks, the number of cases of Corona has increased by 30 times. This growth is not limited to Hong Kong only. Singapore has also increased by 30 per cent in cases of Corona in about a week. On 10 May 2025, a total of 1,042 cases of Corona were reported in Hong Kong. Last week the figure was 972. There were only 33 cases in the beginning of March. Thus, cases have been increasing continuously since March. The biggest concern here is that positivity is constantly increasing. The positivity rate in the week ended March 1 was only 0.31 percent, which increased to 5.09 percent by 5 April, compared to 13.66 percent in the week ended May 10.
There were 11,100 cases of Corona virus in Singapore in the week ended 27 April. Now it has increased to 14,200 in three weeks. Thus, an increase of 30 percent was seen in just one week. The number of patients hospitalized daily increased from 102 to 133. These figures are from Singapore.
The government says that there may be many reasons behind the surge in cases of Corona. The immunity earned towards the vaccine gradually ends. Singapore is currently spreading rapidly spreading covid variants LF-7 and NB 1.8. Both are from the next generation of JN.1 variant.
