Former US President Donald Trump is once again running for election as the Republican Party candidate. He will face the current US President Joe Biden. It is being said that Trump can win the election. Only time will tell who will win and who will lose, but Trump's one promise is that he wants a family in American society. The demand for family repatriation in the US is not new. Republicans and Democrats seem to be in agreement on this matter. The wife of former Vice President Al Gore has been campaigning for the family's return since 1993.
Al Gore is affiliated with the Democratic Party. Social workers, psychologists, police officers, teachers and even many doctors have been saying in one voice that family is very important for a human being. He cannot live alone. A few days ago, a research revealed that 40 lakh people in America are victims of loneliness. This is a huge number considering America's population of approximately 34 crores. The World Health Organization says that isolation is becoming the biggest epidemic in the world.
The need of family is stated to be the highest for children. It is said that by living in a family, children can express their views and take advice from elders. Otherwise they become victims of all types of crimes.
They suffer from stress and fall into the trap of addiction. The worse condition of a society where children are alone can only be imagined. The family the West is so excited about has been destroyed. First they destroyed the family with every argument, destroyed the family by planting dynamite of various types of terrorist ideas and now they are saying that we want a family.
I wish I had thought earlier that if the family is no more, then you too will be no more, but the attraction of terrorist ideas is such that they instantly catch people in their grip. Its adverse effects become visible only after 50-100 years. Italy's Prime Minister Meloni also gained political fame by talking about family. Her slogan was, I am a self-reliant woman but I am a mother and also a Christian, meaning self-reliance, family and your faith or religion can go together.
Family is being discussed these days in America as well as throughout Europe because people are seeing what a huge price society and governments have to pay for not having a family. People look towards governments for all those tasks which used to be done very easily when there was a family. I myself have seen a large number of single men and women in Europe. They may have all the facilities but there is hardly anyone to listen to them. They are just waiting to leave the world. They are seen alone in markets, streets and homes. Helplessness is hidden in their smile. Many times when they see Indian people they stop and often ask about the family.
They also appreciate that family values are very strong in India. They do not know the truth that the roots of our family are also shaking here. Nowadays it is being dismissed as an exploitative system. Many commentators in our country consider family to be the biggest threat to women.
It seems that if there is no family then all the sorrows will disappear from the lives of women. The life of a single woman is being shown as a rosy picture whereas whenever any trouble arises, family members are the first to come forward to help. The West has transformed the concept of family sensitivity and care into value, creating what it calls the 'care economy'.
It is surprising to think that a mother would calculate the cost of caring for her child or that a father would weigh in money everything he does to raise his child. Similar concepts have destroyed the institution of family in the West. In the name of self-reliance, children are taught that their life belongs only to them. This is the reason why children leave the family as soon as they grow up. They come to meet family members but only occasionally. Not only this, elderly people suffering from diseases are often self-confident.
Sadly, here too we are now seeing the trend that the elderly are no one's responsibility. In the West they get many facilities from the government, but here hardly any government pays full attention to these things. Who cares about protecting human dignity? If the West, which taught the world so many negative lessons in the name of freedom, is crying for families today, then there must be something to be said.
It is time for us also to learn some lessons. Remember that adversity works. Some friends may be good but they may not be available to you all the time. While parents, other family members, no matter how angry they may be, are the first to appear when there is a crowd.
