Ludhiana: Punjab Vigilance Bureau today arrested Goods Patwari Gurvinder Singh posted at Mall Halka Pirubanda, East Ludhiana on charges of accepting bribe of Rs 34.70 lakh. Giving information in this regard, the spokesperson of the State Vigilance Bureau said that this case was registered on the basis of the complaint filed by Babbu Tanwar resident of Rampura Phul, District Bathinda in the Chief Minister Anti Corruption Office against the said Patwari and his actions. The complainant has alleged that the said accused Patwari had taken a bribe of Rs 40,000 to transfer his father's property, which was registered in the year 1994, in the name of the bus stand near Ludhiana.
The complainant further alleged that the said Patwari and his agent Nikku had taken Rs 3,40,000 and Pakistani shoes worth Rs 3 lakh from him for purchasing two 'i-phones' apart from smart watches. Apart from this, the complainant had also spent Rs 80,000 on the birthday party of the said Patwari's agent Nikku.
The spokesperson said that during the investigation, it was revealed that the said Patwari, his associate Nikku, the said Patwari's father Paramjit Singh and brother Balwinder Singh had taken a bribe of Rs 27,50,000 in four installments in exchange for the said transfer.
He said that during the investigation, it was found that the said Patwari neither registered the transfer of property nor returned the amount received from the complainant for this work, which proves that the said accused cheated the complainant even after taking the bribe. Is of.
He further said that Patwari Gurvinder Singh, his associate Nikku as well as brother and father of the said Patwari have been booked under sections 7 and 7-A of the Prevention of Corruption Act on charges of demanding and accepting bribe and conspiring with each other. Found involved. And FIR was registered in Ludhiana range on 24-11-2023 under section 420, 120-B of IPC Vigilance Bureau. A case has already been registered under number 29. He further said that Patwari's father and brother have already got bail from the court, but the High Court has rejected Patwari's bail application.
After this, raids were being conducted to arrest Patwari Gurvinder Singh and his associate Nikku. Therefore, finding no other option, the said Patwari surrendered before Vigilance Bureau Range, Ludhiana. He will be presented in the court tomorrow.
