A former NITI Aayog employee, who was pursuing her PhD from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), died in a road accident in London. The accident happened on the evening of March 19 on Clerkenwell Road, near the intersection of Farringdon Road. The deceased has been identified as 33-year-old Chesitha Kochhar. Former CEO of NITI Aayog Amitabh Kant shared the news of the death of 33-year-old Chesitha Kochhar on social media.

According to the information, this accident happened with Chesitha when he was returning home from the university on a bicycle. During this time a truck hit him. Kochhar was hit by a garbage truck on March 19. At the time of the accident, her husband Prashant was ahead of her and ran to save her. However, the accident was so terrible that Chesitha could not be saved. She came to London from Gurugram last year.

Chesita Kochhar's father Lieutenant General SP Kochhar is retired from the army. He has gone to London to collect his daughter's body. He wrote on social media – I am currently in London. I have come to collect my daughter's ashes. Chesitha's demise is a great loss to her family and friends.

Former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NITI Aayog Amitabh Kant posted, 'She was a brilliant student. May God rest his departed soul at his feet.” Before coming to London with her software engineer husband Prashant Gautam, Kochhar worked as a senior advisor at India's National Behavioral Insights Unit for almost two years until April last year.
