Dhamtari, March 23 (HS). On March 23, on the instructions of Collector and District Election Officer Namrata Gandhi, the sector officers appointed for the Lok Sabha elections 2024 in the district were given training in the three assemblies Dhamtari, Kurud and Sihawa.
In this training organized in District Panchayat Dhamtari, Kurud and Nagri, sector officers were asked to inspect the route charts and polling stations assigned to them and submit the information about physical verification in the prescribed format. In the training organized in District Panchayat Dhamtari, SDM Dhamtari Dr. Vibhor Aggarwal said that sector officers have an important role in election work, they are given the power of magistrate seven days before voting. He asked all the 28 sector officers to inspect the polling stations allotted to them and verify the basic facilities – electricity, water, toilets, ramps, shade, net connectivity etc. and submit a report if there is a need for repairs or improvements.
In the training, the responsibilities and duties of the sector officers were explained in detail through the presentation by the master trainers. They were also asked to ensure that no political party should have an office within 200 meters of the polling stations. Sector officers were explained in detail about their entire responsibilities including taking special vigilance in sensitive polling stations.
