Mahua locations raided for political revenge

Mahua Moitra 638

Kolkata, March 23 (HS). Trinamool Congress has termed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raid on the premises of party leader Mahua Moitra in the case of taking bribe and asking questions as politics of vengeance.

Officials said the CBI on Saturday conducted searches at the premises of former Trinamool MP Moitra at several places including Kolkata in the case. Officials said that the CBI team reached Mahua locations in Kolkata and other cities early on Saturday and started the action by giving information about the raid process. Senior Trinamool leader Shantanu Sen said that this is a ploy to divert the attention of the public and media from various burning issues. It seems that BJP is sensing the growing public dissatisfaction and they are making every possible effort to change the narrative. This is a clear example of vendetta politics.

He alleged that the BJP was misusing central agencies to intimidate the opposition ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. Sen said that amid the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct, the BJP is sending its most trusted allies – CBI and ED – to raid our candidates. The Election Commission should look into this.
