Prime Minister Narendra Modi has returned home from a two-day visit to Bhutan. PM Modi reached Bhutan yesterday morning. Bhutan's Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay was given a warm welcome at Paro Airport. He addressed PM Modi as my elder brother. Then PM Modi was given a guard of honor at the airport. Apart from this, people of Bhutan gathered on the streets to see him.

Before leaving for Delhi, King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Prime Minister Tshering Tobagi came to see PM Modi at the airport. PM Modi said that I am feeling very honored. This trip to Bhutan was very special. I had the opportunity to meet the King, Prime Minister Tobgay and the people of Bhutan. Our talks will further strengthen India-Bhutan friendship. I am also grateful to have been awarded the Order of the Druk Gyalpo. I am very grateful to the wonderful people of Bhutan for their warmth and hospitality. India will always be a reliable friend and partner for Bhutan.

Inaugurated the hospital built with the help of India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated a modern hospital built with the help of India in Bhutan's capital Thimphu. Modi along with his Bhutanese counterpart Tshering Tobagy inaugurated the 'Gyaltsen Jetson Pema Mother and Child Hospital' in Thimphu.

“It is an honor for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Health Ministry and all the people of Bhutan to inaugurate this hospital,” Bhutan Health Minister Lyonpo Tandin Wangchuck said. The hospital has 150 beds, dedicated to all mothers and babies in Bhutan.

Congratulations on receiving the highest civilian award

Tobgay said, 'On behalf of the entire country, on behalf of all Bhutanese people, I would like to congratulate PM Modi on receiving Bhutan's highest civilian award. He is the first foreigner to get it so we are very proud. Then PM Modi had said on social media, I dedicate this honor to the 140 crore people of India. I am confident that India-Bhutan relations will continue to grow and will benefit our citizens.” Diplomatic relations between India and Bhutan were established in 1968. The basic framework of India–Bhutan relations is the 1949 Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between the two countries, which was revised in February 2007.
